ARTIST STATEMENT
Yo soy mojada-seca and raised in the urban
American, Indigenous American, Mexican,
Mexican-American, Texan, Hispanic, Mestizo,
and by proxy, Chicano and Latino experience.
My mother gifted me the knowledge of community
self-determination, aesthetic formalities, object making,
storytelling, and experiences in creative and informal economies.
And living as a mixed blood and mixed-cultured idealist, I know the magic in dreaming, family, and the intricacies
of moving across land and nations.

My artwork concentrates on the mechanics of aesthetics within indigenous diasporas and retribalization epistemology, propaganda, and the importance of encoding meaning and metaphor in objects. My practice transverses knowledge-based systems, public space, street art, technology, graffiti, and text. It lives as photographs, videos, sound projects, podcasts, books, and sculptures.
