SPATIAL IMAGINATION

Play & Spatial Reinvention was a collaboration between Project Row Houses, College Bound Students, and myself. In June 2016, I journeyed to the city of Third Ward located in Houston Texas, for two weeks to facilitate spatial reinvention artwork activities with twelve college-bound students. The activities include stone painting, garden installation, and ground mural painting. These young adults learned about Adinkra iconography and motifs, landscape architecture, and learned skills such as measuring for textile application, chalk line snapping, paint mixing, and project planning. Together we created spaces on the Project Row Houses' site that intersect play and education.
